Here was some stuff I came up with for my Star Wars character:
The Race:
-they're from a watery planet where their predator was force-sensitive (which is why they are force-resistant)
-they were originally aquatic, but have evolved to amphibians
-the majority still have gills, fins, flippers, etc
-they evolved a humanoid shape
My Character:
-red hair, greenish skin with a pale shimmer (suggests scales)
-she is part human so she's more human-like than most; also she has no gills
-she was rediculed for not having gills - could not be part of her family because of this. They are truly amphibious and live half of their lives in the water. For the most part, she can't join them (she can hold her breath for awhile, but not forever)
-she is better equipped for land and also space travel than the majority of her race (no gills to keep wet)
-because of all this, she was an outsider among her people
