You say they messed up the ending? Damn. I was afraid of that.

I got a few beefs with the movie too. It was dumbed down for the public but it was missing major things. First off, why no showing poor old broken Sauromen? Are we to just assume that Gandalf has nothing to point out to him in all his wisdom? Cuz he does. He also breaks all the evil magics Sauromen casted on his own followers. He takes a moment to observe an evil corrupt man who lost all his power he did not deserve. Next, the shire was attacked at the end of the book, and is defended and rebuilt. The ring's destruction maybe a climax but it does have a rising spike near the end because of that. It also showed no one was unaffected by the war of the ring plus it shows that good may get beat but it never dies out. Finally Action Hero Sam Pippin!? Lord no. The fight with Shelob goes like this: Spider attacks Frodo. Spider paralyzes Frodo. Sam snaps and rushes Shelob in glorious burst of emotion. Sam does a non-stop stabby-stab-stab of the spider. In no way is Sam a roll around and fight like an experience fighter. Sam just starts stabbing shelob and thats all his moves. No roll around and kick, or dodging, or anything fancy. I think I'm done but you never know, so until the next burst of ranting....here are some smileys.... ....they're so great....

Yeah, smilies are great, aren't they? ;D I love 'em! I heard Peter Jackson said that he couldn't fit the part with Saruman (which did get filmed, and will be on the Extended DVD) into the movie because of time constraints. Having just gotten home from seeing the movie, I'm too hyped up by the good parts to rant about the bad parts, but I didn't like the way the eagles came in. The way that was pulled off, it seemed to me like anyone who hadn't read the Hobbit would be lost as to who these eagles were and why they were there. Other than that, though, I rather enjoyed it, flaws and all.

I really liked the movie. (As you can tell, I've seen it, that is why this thread is back here)
lol
it's true. I noticed that as well. I can't think of much else to say......maybe after I see it again.....or in a few days, after I've properly woken up

I thought about that... but at the same time, rolling out of the way of a stinger coming at you is kinda instinctual. I dunno... I agree that it was a bit out-of-character, but if they'd done it like it was in the book, audiences might not have liked seeing a sudden stabby-stab without a big fancy fight to go with it. ...did Sam do any training with Aragon, or was that just Merry and Pippin? Hm... must watch/read Fellowship again...
