Well, #3 is coming out in less than a month. What do you people think of the story so far?

I enjoyed the second one. Sure, the special effects in the Matrix movies is a little (extremely) far-fetched and fairly fake, but I still enjoy them.
But the ending of the second one made me mad. "to be concluded"? We knew that! They should have just wrote, "GIVE US MORE MONEY!!"

Pah. The ending to Reloaded was a damn good cliffhanger. Unlike, say, the LOTR movies, which just kinda stop at the ends. Note that I really like the LOTR movies, but that's one of their faults.

Matrix Reloaded attempted to create a more complex plot from something that was already complex enough as it was... It was a Nice showing of CGI and whatnot, but plot gets a big thumbs down. They're trying too hard... *Ahem* Don't Badmouth LOTR, It is Gold. Each movie stopped at the only possible Cliffhanger it could have.. I don't know too many none LOTR fanatics that would sit for a 5 hour movie, thus they stopped when they could. Now back to Matrix... Hopefully the 3rd will tie it up nicely, and take it down a notch instead of having wild new elements flying left and right at you.

Oh and I have to say, Shelob was held back until the 3rd movie to add to the Mounting Climax at the end. If Shelob was put into the second movie it would have been too awkward.

Matrix: Reloaded wasn't really a nice CG show. In fact, the CG effects were clearly inferior to the ones used in, say, the Two Towers. Watch the way the CG Neo moves in the fight scene with all the Smiths. It's nowhere near as lifelike as the movements of Gollum.
. . . And was there really that much to expect from the plot of Reloaded in the first place? I took both Matrix movies as I saw them to be: Fun little action flicks with some ignorable pretending-to-be-deep plot.
Sonn: I wasn't trying to bad-mouth LotR in any way. The "Trilogy" set up of the books messes with Tolkein's originally planned pacing anyway. Tolkein's own book divisions can be seen throughout, and I believe he originally planned for 5 books. Admittedly, the movies do their best to end at a good spot, but the fanboy in me wishes it could have been truly perfect. I agree with you about Shelob, though.

I agree too. I just stated the fact that Shelob was cut from 2 Towers. And if they had left them both at cliffhangers, you would've had a LOT of angry ppl.

WOW, the Matrix Revolutions was simply amazing. This film series has easily topped anything I've ever seen. What a wonderful piece of work.

I thought it was good, but not great. And when I say, "not great", I mean that I'm not gonna go see it 5 times in the theatre. But, I'd probably buy it.

WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD!! *Spoiler space* I came into Revolutions expecting to be completely dissapointed. Nothing I'd heard about it had been good at all. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the scene at the docks was pretty good, and very intense. There were some pretty good lines in there that amused me, especially from Niobe and Roland, and I couldn't help but grin when Smith did his whole, "It isn't fair!" thing. The fight between Neo and Smith reminded me of something out of the Death of Superman. It really felt to me like a battle between two almost invincible beings. A clash of the titans, to steal a phrase. One thing that really bugged me, though: Revolutions has outdone Fellowship in the "Death scene that takes too long" department. Granted, I knew the story wasn't exactly going to be stellar, but Trinity took too long to die, and delivered some dialogue in that time that I thought just reeked. "You gave me another chance." Yawn. Just die already! Also: Is Neo just stupid? Bane was using a Smith-like voice, he was using Smith's mannerisms, and he called Neo "Mr. Anderson." You'd think that would put up red flags all over. Overall, though, it wasn't bad. I give it about a 6.5/10. Not as good as I'd hoped, better than I'd feared. I've rambled enough, so I'll shut up now. Later, people!

I hated it! Who would invest time into that (insert word other than crap)?! I mean, it was so damn corney, and the dialogue was some attempt at sound smart. And i quote... "Oh, the secret of life... blah blah blah, existance! Blah blah blah, time and space!" All Neo could say was, "What?" or "Who?" or "Why?" etc.
