I don't know much about Pearl Jam, but I do know that I hated their cover of Last Kiss. Um... wait, this thread isn't about Pearl Jam, is it? >.>

Nah, it's just grunge in general. I just said I love Pearl Jam. I think that Ed Vedder is a great song writer.

Grunge: it's got a lazy and distorted sound. It's part punk and part pop (in the middle of the two)

Grunge was a mode of rock (which we now know as alternative) which began in the early 90's. It was characterized by aggressive distortion and simple guitar riffs, usually it displayed some ties to blues through its modalities. Grunge began with the "Seattle Grunge Movement" in wait... here's the shocker... SEATTLE. Groups who are typically tossed into this genre include (but are not limited to:
Nirvana Soundgarden Pearl Jam Foo Fighters Meatpuppets Sponge

Meatpuppets did "Lake of Fire" (which Nirvana covered) as well as "Backwater" and a few others. Sponge was a one-hit-wonder with the song "Plowed"
