I'm talking punk, not skater punk. (Offspring, Bad Religion, Green Day....)

Well, Bad Religion is a cool group, but once again, I'm not up on this whole "divisions of rock" thing. To me, Punk=metal=industrial=goth=ROCK. Well, you get the idea.

but you have to admit that punk and industrial are totally different things.

I listen to every type of music. If it's not on the radio, I buy CD's. If I can't find CD's, I download tracks. Music is just music to me, and while I find it useful to occasionally use broad genres to categorize, (rock, rap, classical, etc) I find that labelling every different little difference in music is just stupid. Inevitably, you end up with a different "style" of music for every band, as no two groups have exactly the same kind of music. In the end, I'd rather just call it all music.

I'm just curious as to what you classify the difference between punk and skater punk. Green Day is punk. I can't imagine what elseto call them. Though AFI is really good and has my vote.

Personally, I justified calling certain bands skater punk for a while, but I suppose it has grown redundant as many newer punk bands sound the same, or rather, have very similar harmonies and such. I will rephrase "skater punk" as "newer punk". I wanted to talk about older punk in here.

Ceith: I think you're being too narrow-minded. There are variations in every kind of music.

I think it's funny that unimportantguy is calling you narrow-minded when it comes to music.
