I was actually paying more attention than this story implies! I wrote it last night, when I was unable to sleep. I'm hoping it will help me stay in character next week!

I followed them into the conference room for the presentation, being sure to sit as far away from the one Dr. Miller calls "the Captain" as possible. I don't really like any of them, but I especially cannot stand the smell of the Captain. Whiskey and cheap beer. Yuck!
We sit down and Dr. Miller begins his presentation. I keep wondering why I'm here. And what's this team he keeps referring to? Am I part of it? Why am I even here, listening to this? Law and Order is on.
Dr. Miller presses a button and a face appears. There is a gasp of recognition from someone. I do not recognize the face. As Dr. Miller talks about him, I wonder why this computer isn't talking for itself? It has a face. It is looking at us. Yet it remains silent through the whole ordeal. I want to ask about it, but I do not want to interrupt their discussion. I'll ask Dr. Miller about it later. If I remember.
I am still contemplating the computer's silence when I become aware that all eyes are now on me. Dr. Miller must have said something about me that has piqued the interest of everyone else. Especially the other doctor. He is staring at me with wonder and a sort of greed in his eyes. It makes me uncomfortable. I look away, fixating on a point on the wall so I do not have to look at anyone. Law and Order is almost halfway through. Why can't I be watching it while these people have this conversation without me?
"I know this is a lot for you to take in, Alison," Dr. Miller says.
I meet his eyes to acknowledge him. "Law and Order is on," I say.
He chuckles a little bit. "Yes, I know Law and Order is on. I have a room set up for you. You can watch it there."
I nod, happy with that. If I'm lucky I'll catch the end of the episode. I have seen them all many times. I'll be able to tell what episode it was as long as I can catch the ending.
