Ok Ill get us started
May 5th 1999, I was travelling with some friends in my parents new car (5 days old) to the town of Alliston, 30 minutes away from home, and where I went went to school. I had recieved my licence 5 days previously, the same day as my parents decided to get a new car, and trade in our crappy Neon. Well I stopped a t a dairy Queen to buy some ice cream for my mom, and headed home. We decided to take a short cut, taking a rather pleasant drive through the country, it was nice, I took my time, as it was an unknown road, and it was freshly grated gravel providing no grip to a light weight vehicle. It was then that there appeared in front of me a sharp turn, I turned the wheel to follow the course as normal, but the wheels couldn't grab ahold of anything, I spun, fishtailed as i fought for control, and finally plunged into the ditch before me. I saw the second before the crash, as the glass shattered before my eyes, and the sky opened up before me. The next I knew my buddy Brad shook me, and was attempting to get a response from me. I nodded and then...somehow managed to crawl out the window, and walk to the side, where Brad and Donald stood, staring at the wreck. I was a mess, in shock I was barely able to see if everyone was okay, they were more concerned about me, I had hit my head off the steering wheel and was dazed still. A car had been behind us and I at last became aware of a womans presence. She asked if we were okay and if we needed help, I said I was fine and proceded to call home. I picked up my cell, looked at it, considered the number, looked at th wreck..and began dialing slowly barely able to control myself. The phone rang...My mother picked up..."mom" my voice quivered, "i had an accident, I wrecked the car..." "are you okay?" "i wrecked the car" "Thats fine, but are you okay?" "I...wrecked...the car..."
After I broke down and could no longer respond at all, the lady grabbed the phone and let my mother know I was okay, there were no major wounds, but the car was a mess. I thanked the woman and she left. My mother would show up at what felt like hours later.
I still have nightmares about the crash which should have killed me. Me were lucky that day...
