It's things like this which make me sad regarding the fear and misconceptions regarding stem cell research. The majority of such research is underfunded and horribly limited in what they are able to do because of public stupidity.
A large portion of stem cells are gained from the umbilical cord of newborns. The ones gained from fetuses are gained from those resulting from abortions which are, otherwise, thrown in the trash.
I'm just ranting. Hope this proves fruitful though.
