I want to say it first...
Spiritmonger.

actually, megatog is pretty damn crazy, and it could beat up a spiritmonger (and its owner) any day.

4RR 3/4 Sacrifice an artifact: Megatog gets +3/+3 and gains trample until end of turn
vs.
3BG 6/6 Whenever Spiritmonger deals damage to a creature, put a +1/+1 counter on Spiritmonger.: Regenerate Spiritmonger.[G]: Spiritmonger becomes the color of your choice until end of turn.
oh yeah, how could I not choose megatog? Spiritmonger is great cause of the mana deal for a regen beast of doom. Megatog is a good card but it ain't sure fire ace in the hole.

Yeah, but Mirrodin is an artifact set.....so of course the Megatog rocks in it.
(And if you have a ton of artifacts out and attack with the Megatog and the defending player only has a spiritmonger, then the megatog will be better....)

I admit that I thought that megatog was gonna suck when I saw the spoiler, but you have to see it in action. (now I want to make a megatog deck!)

wait, people. We forgot a very simple winner: Whipporwill. (for those who don't know what it is, it's the flightless bird that's shown flying in the art).

or the good old sun tail hawk, the flying fox/bird/baby gryphon thing.

Now I'm gonna be more serious: Masticore.
4 for 4/4 is reasonably priced. Discarding a card during your upkeep is easy to work around. 2: ping a creature can kill soooooo much. 2: regenerate makes him impossible (almost) to kill.
Masticore kills offensive decks and basically any deck relying on burn. It wins games by itself.
